FPC Class of 2006 high school graduating seniors reported that workcamp had been one of the most rewarding experiences in their church life. 

In 2007 the youth spent a workday at the Cottage Grove Presbyterian Church working with the Cross Ministries.  They rearranged, cleaned and did maintenance for both Cross Ministries and the church.

Mission Co-Worker

FPC member, Denise England has agreed to serve as Mission Co-Worker in Egypt beginning in 2006 or early 2007. This will be a three year commitment for Denise as she goes to geriatric centers in Cairo and Tanta to serve as a Geriatric Nurse Consultant.  Our Session and congregation have pledged funds for the next three years. According to the Mission Initiative: Joining Hearts and Hands, as of July 10, 2007, Denise has received:

 

Cash - $17,538.18

Total pledged - $24,641.19 (JH&H has received $14,527.19 in payments toward pledges - this amount is not included in the cash received)

Total Amount Committed - $42,179.37 (cash received + total pledged)

The annual cost for Denise to be Mission Co-Worker in Egypt is $45,500.

1 Term Goal (3 years) is $136,500

 

Mission in the Community 

Working with other local churches assembling Easter Baskets and Thanksgiving Baskets for families in need through the Family Development Center and Ministerial Alliance.
